(Dr. Rydstrom)

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, JEFF CARTWRIGHT has spent the majority of his life entertaining. During his career he has performed at both Disneyland (in California) and Disney World (in Florida), as well as on the reviewing stand for the Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., and at many other landmarks and events throughout the country. Some of the stage productions he has appeared in include Carousel, 42nd Street, The Music Man, Our Town, and The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

Jeff began his professional performance career with the 1995 world premiere of the musical Utah presented at the Tuacahn Amphitheater in St. George, Utah. This project led to an invitation to join Utah’s newest professional dance company, Odyssey. Other dance positions followed including the chance to appear in the Harry Connick Jr. New Year’s Eve Concert at Caesars Palace, and traveling the Caribbean onboard the Norwegian Sea cruise ship. As an actor he has played the role of Eugene in Grease, and has appeared in the documentary Things That Changed the World for England’s BBC and most recently in the music video for Michael Jackson’s song “One More Chance.”

Controversy queen Madonna is the celebrity Jeff credits with the most powerful influence on him. Her inspiration comes from her outspokenness, perseverance, creativity, and business savvy. Another public persona Jeff has much admiration for is talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Her genuine love of people is apparent and shows that we must look behind the façade before judgment is passed. This she does through her actions, which mean more than words. The other message Ms. DeGeneres tries to remind us of is that we must allow our children to dream and that anything is possible. This is the most important lesson in life to Jeff, and he hopes to be able to encourage dreams through his achievements.

Without these next few names the pursuit of his lifelong dream may not have been possible. Chad Foltz, Brandee Burnam, Sue Pyne, and his family have all encouraged him to reach for the stars and to continue to believe in his abilities. Their support has given Jeff the courage and strength to continue dreaming.

Appearing in Rose of Death marks Jeff’s feature film debut. He plans to continue working in films and become a steady working actor.
