M. MITCHELL was one of L. Alan Brooks's co-workers at a health insurance company when he asked her to act in a short film he was making with another co-worker. The film was called "StarFan" and was made specifically to be entered into the Sci-Fi Channel's "Star Wars Fan Film Awards" contest. Unfortunately, the film did not get chosen, but it started a partnership between Brooks, Fabian Quevedo and Mitchell. Brooks and Quevedo asked her to come on board as a producer for their first feature-length film, which came to be known as Rose of Death. As the producer, she helped organize the auditions and call times for the shoot, as well as deal with any problems that arose. She also had major input in the scriptwriting process, helping to shape the story into what you see on screen.
