In her own words: Who's that girl? I know, I know ... I look like I'm 15, but I'm legal ... honest! Although I play a complete basket case as the character of Meg in Rose of Death, thankfully my life has been much more fulfilling and normal. I come from a small town in Michigan. I was doing massage therapy part-time there, but found it hard to build clientele ... plus the fact that I was SUFFOCATING there and eager to claw my way out of the black hole that is Michigan (phew!). So I moved as far away as I could afford to at the time--to Las Vegas. I now work full-time as a massage therapist and act in my free time. Well, you know ... that time between work and work ... I've actually heard that some people use it for sleep! This move was truly the best thing I ever could have done for myself. It's really amazing how good it feels (not to mention how much it changes you) to go someplace new and completely reinvent yourself. I had some theater experience in middle school when I acted in school plays. I was a pretty shy kid, but I remember how "alive" I felt when I was on stage. It was like the rest of the world melted away and I really fell into the characters I was portraying. Although I loved it, I was too busy rebeling against my peers in high school to play around with acting anymore. I didn't really do much with acting again until I moved to Vegas, shedding my inhibitions and shyness I had clung so hard to. It was sort of by accident that I saw an ad in the paper and started doing extra work. I took some acting classes for awhile and met some really talented and amazing people. Through acting, I was able to tap into emotions within myself that I didn't even know existed. It really is good therapy. Plus, it's just fun to act retarded and get paid for it (in some cases anyway!). I did a couple of local commercials, some television shows, like "Las Vegas," and also had parts in some films, like Head of State, The Indie-Pendant, and The Cauldron: Baptism of Blood. Soon I started being approached by people who'd say, "Hey, didn't I see you in ... ," and I realized, "Hey, I like this!" Not to mention that my mom was bursting at the seams with pride! I still have a hard time watching myself, but it gets easier as I get better. This whole Rose of Death movie kind of came up and bit me in the ass. I was called out fo the blue to come and audition and ran into Luke (who plays Jake in the film), who I had gone to acting classes with. Small world! We have a really great, retarded chemistry together, so it was really fun (and hard at times) to do these serious scenes with him. Everyone else has been really great, too. I've enjoyed doing this movie so much. (No, Alan didn't pay me to say this!) It seems like every shoot is full of out-takes and hilarity. I actually look forward to taping because I know I'll get a good workout with all of the laughing I do. I'm really excited to see the finished product, and you should be too! The rest is history. Well, not yet ... but it will be! As far as my plans go ... at the present, I'm working on moving out to California and being a beach bum. I'm not sure where all of this will take me, but I'm really excited for the road ahead. Keep your eyes open for me in the future, and definitely be on the lookout for the finished product of Rose of Death.
